Supporting Each Other Now
I was born in Angola, where community is a way of life. Growing up in London, I still felt connected. London is mixed, full of different communities that understand what 'community' feels like. But when I moved to Southampton, I immediately saw how much opportunity there is to build something real here.
As a Black woman, I’m not looking for a one-demographic group. My dream is a garden filled with different plants, all growing, all shining beautifully. So I’m calling out to all parents: Black, White, Chinese, Indian, Mixed… everyone.
I’ve learned how powerful it is when people support one another. I don’t want to live like a desert alone or disconnected, and I know many of you feel the same way.
This space is for parents of young adults in Southampton who want real community. Not just online, but in real life too.
Parents, carers, and professionals together, we can build something strong, safe, and full of hope.
If you believe in connection, support, and community, you are in the right place. No judgement, no status, no bias – just people who care about the community.
